Cinematography video feedback/learner response
1) Type up your feedback/comments from your teacher.
WWW:
- Good location
- Appropriate music
- Simple effective angle
- Use if close ups
- OTS + Long shot
- Good fade at the end
EBI:
- More developed narrative
2) Type up your feedback from fellow students.
WWW:
- Good editing
- Range of shots and angles
- Song choice
- Use of setting
- Transitions
EBI:
- High exposure
- No narrative
3) Now reflect on your work and write your own summary of the comments and feedback you have received. Write three WWWs and three EBIs.
For my WWW I was able to get a range of different shots and angles as much as I can, I was able to put transitions and choose a song that is parallel to the scene and the narrative, which is upbeat and optimistic. For my EBI, I could have done better if I have a more developed narrative to be more creative and if I checked the editing and recording before posting it as it came out too bright and the exposure was high.
4) Learner response: think about what you learned about cinematography making the video and also watching others. What will you do differently when you start the coursework in the summer? What tips or tricks have you learned from others that you can use next time? Are there any specific aspects of camerawork that you need to revise or practice?

I learned that camerawork and angles are important when trying to communicate meaning to audiences as well as trying to show audiences who's perspective it is. For my coursework I could add a more developed narrative that could come out creative where I could apply enigma or actions codes. The tips that I have learned could be the idea of the match action, where the two clips are connected but from different angles or positions of cameras. I could also use the idea of shot-reverse-shot as well as the zooming out while moving closer to a character or an object using a dolly. The camerawork that I need to revise or practice could be the tracking shot or crane shot as I feel like I haven't used these as much.
