2. CLAMPS

Costume:

-One of the female character, the damsel in distress is wearing a blue cardigan which connotes her casualty and how she seems to be comfortable.

-One of the male character, the sidekick of the villain is wearing a white shirt which connotes his attempt to be formal, however the shirt has a blood stain on it which could connote violence and how brutal he is behind his formality which could be the binary opposition of peacefulness and rebellion.

-One of the female character, the antagonist is wearing a full black duster which could connote her mysteriousness which could be represented as the enigma codes of the movie as well reinforcing the idea of her being the villain.

Lighting:

-The low key lighting around the screen could connote the enigma codes and how there's a lingering danger around the damsel in distress. 

-The high key lighting when the antagonist is revealed could reinforce the revelation of the identity of the villain.

Actors:

-Facial expression of the damsel in distress seems to be terrified and worried which could connote that she's anxious of the area around her. 

-Facial expression of the sidekick of the villain seems to be determined and stern which could connote the idea that he's already planned his mission on how to attack the damsel in distress.

-Facial expression of the antagonist seem confident which is reinforce with the idea that she was smiling at the damsel in distress, connoting the idea that she's determined.

-Body language of the victim at the start of the scene is defensive, connoting the danger around her and how serious the situation is as she's trying to fight the male character off.

-Body language of both villains seems confident and aggressive, connoting the idea that they are both determined and they have planned how they will attack the victim, it also shows how both character's roles in the scene links to help them win against the victim.

Make-up:

-The make-up of the the female villain seems elegant and simple which could connote her power, however her being violent and aggressive to the other female character could subvert the idea her make-up as she's getting her hands dirty by stabbing another character.

Props:

-The gun prop could reinforce and symbolise the idea of aggression, violence and brutality.

-The ghost face mask could connote the thriller in the film and the enigma codes due to the villain not showing her identity but is revealed in the scene, connoting the climax of the scene.

-The blood smudges could again reinforce the idea of brutality due to it being a blood from another body.

Setting:

-The setting shows how it is filmed inside the house which could have binary codes due the idea that a house symbolises the idea of a comfort space and peacefulness where people in the house should feel comfortable without thinking of the danger around them, however in the scene it shows how the house is a murder and attack scene which is the opposite of having a peaceful house.

3. Script and Shot list

Shot lists:

  • Medium close-up shot of the Charlie has Sidney in a headlock against the red wall. 
  • Medium shot from behind both characters, where Sidney pushes Charlie back against the wall to break free. 
  • Medium shot at the front of both characters.
  • Hand held shot, following Sidney towards the door and Sidney gets stabbed.
  • over the shoulder shot (villain) 
  • Pan shot when Jill starts to take off her mask.
  • over the shoulder shot (victim), when Jill took off her mask completely. 
Script:

INT - SYDNEY’S HOUSE


CHARLIE WALKER has SIDNEY in a headlock against the red wall with a knife against her neck.




CHARLIE

"I know you learn a lot when you watch movies over and over."


SIDNEY BREATHS IN AND OUT.


CHARLIE

"All the plots are about

 trying to kill you."


SIDNEY PANTS.


SIDNEY

"Where’s Jill?"


CHARLIE

"You think she’s gonna get away?

 You think anyone gets away?"



SIDNEY lunges back as she throws off CHARLIE from his hold around her neck and breaks free as CHARLIE hit the wall.


Ominous music, SIDNEY runs towards the door.


*STAB SOUND EFFECT*


SIDNEY GRUNTS and GASPS.


SIDNEY

"Jill."

SIDNEY breathes heavily.


JILL ROBERTS

"Hello Sidney 

Surprised."

The scene is when the sidekick of the villain threatens the damsel in distress, Sidney,  while she tries to get away from him. The villain stops her from getting out of the house by stabbing her then she reveals who she is which is Jill. The setting is in a house where Sidney was trying to find Jill but instead she finds out that the killer is Jill. The audio that I used came from the Scream 4's actual playlist where I just embedded it on there. Also, for the fake blood we used honey and food dye to make it look realistic.
